Ghandara Civilization
Swat Valley has a rich
historical past. Archaeological sites in the valley range from prehistoric
caves through Aryan graveyards to Buddhist monasteries, of which there were
over 1000.

Rich with history, being the cradle of Buddhism, the hub of Ghandara School of sculpture, Swat today is a treasure-torve of arts and
crafts. The valley is extremely green and fertile. The main town is Saidu
Sharif where a museum houses most of the archaeological finds excavated in
the area.

Islamabad to Saidu Sharif
the main centre of swat valley enroute visiting the Takht Bai
archaeological side. |

Further
traveling north, we stop at Khwazakhel, the thriving trading centre
specializing in cloth, fabric, handicraft, and jewellery. Madyan lies
in the heart of the upper swat valley. Overnight. Madyan. |

Drive to
Peshawar, Peshawar isnow, as always, very much frontiers town. The
life style of the Pathan Tribe, Typical Pakistani Bazaar and the
historic places are the main attraction for the tourists. |

A day
excursion to Khyber Pass, it lies the Suleiman range. En route to the
border of Pakistan at Torkhum, you can see the interesting sites, like
jamrud Forts, Ali Masjid, Ali Masjid Fort, Sphola stupa and the view
from Torkhum to the Afghanistan side. Overnight Peshawar. |

Drive Back
to Islamabad via visiting Taxila archaeological sites and the Taxial
Museum. Overnight Islamabad. |

City tour of
Islamabad and Rawalpindi. And transfer to the airport for flight. |
